FRONT GALLERY CERAMIC QUAKE This series grew out of a recent journey to Japan, where I became captivated by the quiet beauty, stillness, and refined simplicity embedded in everyday urban life. I was particularly drawn to the tiled buildings lining neighbourhood streets— structures whose surfaces are designed for purpose yet contribute a subtle grace to the streets around them Though easily overlooked as utilitarian, these tiles are equally ornamental: elegant, understated, and timeless. These are the very qualities I aim to reflect in my painting. Other motifs that thread through the work—staircases, convenience stores, street signs, power lines—all common features of contemporary cityscapes, yet they remain deeply etched in my memory as symbols of a metropolis unlike any other

BACK GALLERY STEADY GROUND This body of work was shaped by a slow movement toward green spaces; tending to the garden, feeling held by the earth, and noticing the quiet ways nature sustains life. Nature has taught me to sit with what is. Sturdy trees remind me I am strong in my foundation and able to grow tall. Mountains teach me to be anchored and unafraid to take up space. This collection ultimately reflects on what it means to be both held and in motion - to ground down while reaching upward, to navigate complexity with softness, and to remain grounded through change.

SIDE GALLERY GIRLS LIKE DOLLS Girls Like Dolls is an exhibition of never-before-exhibited work by contemporary artist, Rachel O'Connor. The exhibition explores themes of objectification, reproduction & nostalgia using the subject matter of toys and their image counterpart, the cartoon, to reflect on the way identity is formed by the opportunities & expectations held in objects and images of play. Included in the exhibition are woodblock prints, large format photography and copy photographs presenting images from the earliest era of the artists’ archive.
