OFF THE KERB INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
This is a volunteer position for a minimum 6 month period. Longer or shorter periods may be negotiated. There are 4 specific internship programs (each may be tailored to your specific needs and you will be given full training). On completion of a minimum of 6 months, you will receive a FREE exhibition at Off the Kerb.
1. PR & EVENTS/GALLERY ASSISTANT
-Working every Thursday from 12:30pm-6pm at the gallery.
-Typing up Media Releases & sending to media.
-Managing Facebook, Twitter and art listings.
-Entering Visitor details each week into the database.
-Answering calls professionally, taking clear messages. Greeting visitors politely, and offering assistance on the shows
-Selling the art work on display following Off the Kerb process.
-Giving necessary information to artists interested to exhibit at Off the Ker.b
-Giving information to artists about Off the Kerb's Studio Spaces letting them know of vacancies or waiting list.
-Email out to database up-coming show invitation.
-Maintaining the gallery, office & back courtyard.
-Attending committee meetings to discuss future shows themes, artist selection as well as special projects .
-Networking when possible to find potential artists.
-Curating shows if interested.
-Assisting the Director with fundraising and establishing the Off the Kerb Foundation (including grant writing).
2. GRAPHIC DESIGNER/GALLERY ASSISTANT
-Working every Friday from 12.30pm-6pm at the gallery .
-Designing the invitations for the show (and other adhoc graphic desing work).
-Photographic documentation of show & Opening & Closing nights.
-Answering calls professionally, taking clear messages. Greeting visitors politely, and offering assistance on the shows.
-Selling the art work on display following Off the Kerb process.
-Giving necessary information to artists interested to exhibit at Off the Kerb.
-Giving information to artists about Off the Kerb's Studio Spaces letting them know of vacancies or waiting list.
-Mail out of invitations.
-Email out to database of up-coming show invitations.

3. SET UP ASSISTANT
Working on one weekend per month (Sat & Sun 10am-5pm). Date advised according to show.
Assisting the artist in hanging or installing their shows.
4. BAR ASSISTANT
Opening & Closing Night service of refreshments and cleaning up at the end of the evening (6pm – 10pm)
